Description

Do you want to work closely with the technical core of the water and wastewater operations and contribute to a safe, robust, and sustainable water and sewage supply? Gislaved Municipality is now looking for a process engineer in the water and wastewater sector who wants to work with the operation, processes, and development of the municipality's water plants, treatment plants, and pumping stations.
Placement
The position is located within the Department of Community Development and the water and wastewater operations. You will work closely with process engineers, operations technicians, project managers, and other specialists within the municipality.
About the role
As a process engineer in the water and wastewater sector, you play a central role in ensuring stable operations, good process economy, and high operational reliability in the municipality's water and wastewater facilities. You will work both operationally and developmentally with process monitoring, optimization, and improvement work.
The role can be adapted depending on whether you have a more operational profile close to daily operations or a more strategic profile focusing on analysis, development, and long-term planning.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize the operations of water plants, treatment plants, and pumping stations.
- Work with process monitoring, troubleshooting, and improvement of water and wastewater processes.
- Establish, develop, and follow up on operational instructions, process descriptions, and control programs.
- Analyze operational data, energy use, and sampling results to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
- Work on energy efficiency and resource-efficient operations of water and wastewater facilities.
- Participate in regulatory contacts, inspections, and reporting according to applicable legislation.
- Engage in planning new investments and reinvestments with a focus on operational reliability and life cycle costs.
- Act as technical support to operations technicians in the operational activities.
- Participate in projects for the renovation and new construction of water and wastewater facilities to ensure good operability and process functionality.
- Stay updated on technological developments and industry practices in the water and wastewater sector.
- Perform other tasks as needed within the scope of the position.
Qualifications
- University degree in water management, environmental science, water technology, process technology, or another relevant field.
- Experience working with water and wastewater operations and processes, preferably from water plants, treatment plants, or pumping stations is an advantage.
- Good understanding of water and wastewater processes, technical facilities, and control and monitoring systems.
- Knowledge of relevant water and wastewater legislation, regulatory requirements, and technical standards.
- Ability to work both analytically and practically with operational and process issues.
- Good collaboration and communication skills.
- Fluency in Swedish, both spoken and written.
- Driver's license (B).

You are structured, solution-oriented, and have a genuine interest in technology and process operations.
